Geneva Kyles is my mom and a fellow Pittsburg High School graduate from the class of 1975. From birth, my mom has been my biggest supporter and the reason why I started this scholarship. Being a single mom and seeing how hard she worked to help me fulfill my goals was very inspirational. After I received my bachelor’s degree, my mom went back to school and received her Bachelor’s of Art in 2012. She pursued a second degree and achieved her Master’s in Education in 2013. My mom received both degrees from California State University, Sacramento. My mom has numerous certifications in the medical field and was an elite Phlebotomist amongst other positions within Kaiser for over 30 years.
